Marta believes that athletic therapy is more than just treating an injury. It is about treating the person as a whole, creating improved functionality and quality of life. YRIS SAN GABRIEL

Registered Massage Therapist

Yris graduated from Massage Therapy College of Manitoba with an Advanced Remedial Massage Therapy diploma. She has been practicing for 4 years and specializes in sport, deep tissue and structural massage treatments. She is also a certified AP fitness and health coach specialized in strength and fat loss.  In her spare time, she likes to play recreational volleyball and hang out with her dog, Cece.

MATHEW MCGRATH

Physiotherapist (Masters)

Mathew graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Psychology and continued his education to graduate from the faculty of Medical Rehabilitation-Physiotherapy Masters Program in 2014.

BRITTANY SWANSON

Certified Athletic Therapist

Brittany graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2016 and Certified as a Athletic Therapist the same year. During her time in University she received certifications in Resistance Training with the Manitoba Fitness Council, Neuro-proprioceptive Taping, is trained as a First Responder, and became a NCCP Level I trained Olympic Lifting coach.

FRANCIS BOWERS

Physiotherapist (Masters)

Francis received his Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology in 2014 from the University of Winnipeg, and his Master’s in Physical Therapy from the University of Manitoba in 2018.
Francis realizes that every patient is unique and requires a tailored approach to their rehabilitation. He uses a combination of education, hands-on techniques in manual therapy, and advanced exercise to rehabilitate and prevent injury.
Francis is currently pursuing his Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT) and has challenged/completed the Orthopaedic Level 1 exam.
Throughout his Bachelor’s, Francis has gained field experience with university-calibre athletes in soccer, volleyball, and basketball.
Francis has 7+ years of experience as a lifeguard and swimming instructor for the City of Winnipeg. He has taught aquatic skills; from lifesaving to swimming correction to a variety of populations; from children with special needs to adults. Francis has a keen interest in hydrotherapy, and how it benefits those whom may be affected by arthritis, neurological disorders, and/or prior joint replacements, etc.
